The exhibition starts with the collection of Roman archaeology, which stands out for the mosaics from the Roman villa of Paret Delgada and the tomb of Apollo and the nine muses.
The museum also has a collection of Hispano-Arab items, one of whose highlights is an arch dating from 960. Most of the exhibition is devoted to religious art, with works spanning the period from the Early Middle Ages to the 20th century.
Various 14th-century elements are worth mentioning: the mural paintings of Peralta, the Holy Bible of Escaladei and Saint Peter Armengol’s chest. There is also an interesting group of Gothic paintings and the Renaissance retable of Saint Thecla and the Saints John.
